Together with Cavea and Flowcate, a fully digital, location-based eKanban solution with real-time tracking was developed — an unprecedented new standard in C-parts management.
1 Starting position
In the highly competitive C-parts market, a well known company was looking for a solution that was not only efficient but also technologically leading. The aim was a fully digitalized container and replenishment management that is characterized by transparency, automation and interoperability with a wide variety of hardware.
2 Approach
Together with Cavea (RTLS solution) and Flowcate (Omlox Hub), a smart eKanban solution based on the ekko platform was implemented. The special feature: automatic status changes and process triggers simply by changing the location of the containers — without manual scans or additional effort for personnel.
3 Implementation & Outcome
Whether it's an empty load report, shelf filling or alarm signals — all steps of the Kanban cycle are automatically recognized and communicated to the container via ESL (e-paper). The solution is interoperable, flexible and can immediately be experienced live at the Berrang Innovation Center in Mannheim.
